How AquaKara works

AquaKara holds your own phone behind a clear window and plays its audio through the built-in Bluetooth speaker. Start with installation, or jump to the help you need.

Installing for the first time? Allow 24 hours with no load on the wall mount before attaching the case. Once installation is complete, follow the everyday-use steps each time you use AquaKara.

Start with the right surface

The whole mounting pad needs to sit flat against one intact, continuous area, with no gaps. Choose a surface that is smooth, flat, rigid and non-porous, with no open pores or pits beneath the pad.

A surface being called “tile” or “glass” does not tell you everything. Its finish, condition and shape must also allow full contact with the pad.

Do not mount across or onto:

  • Grout lines, tile joints or panel seams.
  • Holes, pits, open pores, cracks or chips.
  • Grooves, ridges, bumps or raised texture.
  • Rough, curved, warped, uneven or peeling surfaces.

The area must be large enough for the entire pad, clean and completely dry before installation. Use the factory-fitted mounting pad on every suitable surface, including glass.

First installation: allow 24 hours

The Adhesive Mounting Pad is already fitted to the Twist-Tight Wall Mount. Leave it attached to the mount throughout installation.

  1. Prepare the wall. Choose a suitable area. Remove dust, oil, soap and cleaner residue, then let the surface dry completely.

Clean and fully dry the wall
  2. Peel off the liner. Remove the remaining protective liner from the mounting pad. Do not pull the pad off the wall mount.

    Peel the remaining liner
  3. Press and tighten. Place the whole pad against the prepared surface. Press the mount firmly against the wall and keep pressing while turning the knob clockwise until fully tightened.

    Press and tighten clockwise
  4. Wait 24 hours. Leave the mount undisturbed and unloaded. Do not attach the case during this time.

  5. Check the hold. After 24 hours, gently check that the mount is secure before attaching the case. Do not use it if it slides, turns against the wall or feels loose.

  6. Fit the adapter to the case. Slide the adapter onto the back of the case, smooth end first. Push it fully in until both locking tabs click securely.

  7. Attach the case to the wall mount. Slide the adapter's open end onto the wall-mount bracket. Push fully down to the end stop and visually check that it is fully seated. This connection does not click.

Incorrect installation can cause a fall and damage AquaKara, your phone or the bathroom surface. Do not use damaged, contaminated or deformed mounting parts.

Reconnecting later—or connecting another phone

When you turn it on after pairing, AquaKara will try to reconnect to the last connected phone.

To connect a different phone, disconnect Bluetooth on the previous phone, or quickly double-press AquaKara's Power/Bluetooth button to disconnect the current connection. Then select AquaKara_101 in the new phone's Bluetooth settings before inserting it.

Before each shower

  1. Check the mounting. Gently check the wall-mount base and case connection. Do not use AquaKara if the base slides, turns against the wall, feels loose or cannot hold the case securely. Do not use damaged, contaminated or deformed mounting parts.

  2. Check your phone and the seal. Remove your phone's protective case or cover. Its bare body must be no more than 170 mm high and 86 mm wide, with both limits met. Check that the seal area is in good condition. Foldable smartphones are not officially supported.

  3. Insert the phone. Open the snap-lock latch and lift the lid. Put your phone inside with its screen facing the clear window. Do not force the phone in or force the lid closed.

  4. Close everything fully. Close the lid, lock the latch and press the USB-C charging-port cover securely into place. If the lid cannot close fully or the latch cannot lock securely, do not use AquaKara with that phone.

Keep use within these limits

Use AquaKara only for normal shower use. Do not submerge it or use it underwater. Do not intentionally direct high-pressure water into the speaker area, charging port, latch or seal area.

Charge only in a dry location away from running water. After use, wipe the exterior dry before opening and keep liquids out of the opened case.
